Historically, the social justice advocacy of the Sikh Gurus was focused on religious discrimination, today in the contemporary landscape of neoliberal ‘secular’ democracies like India, the advocacy has taken on a different character. The Farm bills introduced in India have taken away any economic protection for the Farmers of Punjab to secure rightful livelihood. This has in turn led to Punjabi farmers to march on peaceful protests towards the nation’s capital, Delhi. These pictures are a series from protests by Diaspora Sikhs that took place in the Netherlands in December, 2020.
